University of Toledo Purchases Another Blue Bird XCEL 102

FORT VALLEY, GA (May 3, 2004) – The University of Toledo has taken delivery of another Blue Bird XCEL 102™ bus. The university purchased its first Blue Bird XCEL 102™ July 7, 2003.

Click to EnlargeThe 40' long, XCEL 102 is used to transport students. It can carry 44 passengers with room for four wheelchair-bound occupants. The bus comes equipped with a Caterpillar 3126, 260 horsepower diesel engine, Allison B300R transmission, Ridewell front and rear suspension, and a Carrier RM-35 deck-mounted climate control system. The bus has a center door with lift.

All aspects of the sale were handled by Holland Bus in Michigan.

The University of Toledo is the fourth largest university in Ohio. This four-year public institution offers more than 140 undergraduate and graduate programs, and serves approximately 21,000 students.
