BLUE BIRD VISION SCHOOL BUS EXHIBITED ON CAPITOL HILL
FORT VALLEY, GA (May 4, 2007) -In conjunction with the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) Spring Board Meeting in Washington, D.C., Blue Bird Corporation exhibited its Vision school bus to Congressional Representatives from across the U.S. during a unique three-hour event on Capitol Hill.
Both House Representatives and U.S. Senators were invited to the April 24, 2007 school bus exhibit, where they met with school bus industry members including NSTA partners; the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS); Blue Bird Corporation; and other school bus manufacturers. The esteemed members of Congress were also able to view the state-of-the-art Blue Bird Vision school bus featuring the very latest advances in technology and design, environmentally-friendly systems, plus safety and security equipment. The Blue Bird Vision is a conventional Type-C school bus offering 47-77 passenger capacity with wheelbases ranging from 189 to 273 inches, and is available with the Cummins ISB-07 or Caterpillar C7 engines, both of which meet the current 2007 EPA engine emission regulations.
“The Vision represents a bold step forward for the school bus industry,” said Greg McCalmon, Blue Bird Regional Sales Manager. “With its angled hood offering the greatest loading and unloading zone field of vision in its class, and optional features such as surveillance systems and GPS capability, the Vision represents the future for safe and reliable child transportation.”
The Vision bus for the Capitol Hill event was provided by Blue Bird in conjunction with its dealer Atlantic Transportation Equipment, Ltd. (ATEL). ATEL is a full-service Blue Bird dealer based in Landover, Maryland serving the Western Shore of Maryland and Washington D.C.
