BLUE BIRD ANNOUNCES NEW SCHOOL BUS DEALER FOR GEORGIA AND ALABAMA
FORT VALLEY, GA (June 22, 2007) -Blue Bird Corporation is pleased to announce the addition of Yancey Bros. Co. to its growing dealer network. Headquartered in metro Atlanta, Yancey Bros. Co. will offer the full line of Blue Bird school bus products in the states of Georgia and Alabama.
Founded in 1914 by brothers, Goodloe H. Yancey, Jr. and B. Earle Yancey, Yancey Bros. Co. has claim to the title “The Nation’s Oldest Caterpillar Dealer”. In their fourth generation of leadership under the Yancey family, the company has grown to multiple product divisions including Heavy Construction Products, General Construction Products, The Cat Rental Store, Yancey Agricultural Products, and Yancey Power Systems.
Yancey Power Systems supports Caterpillar truck engine and power generation equipment offering eight bus, truck and RV engine service shops across Georgia. For the past three years, Yancey Power Systems has been an authorized Blue Bird Bus Care / Bus Spec dealer providing parts distribution and warranty repairs on Blue Bird school buses in the state of Georgia. This experience and understanding of Blue Bird’s product line creates a natural fit for Yancey to become a school bus dealer.
Yancey Bros. Co. will be a full-service Blue Bird dealer focused on providing Georgia and Alabama school districts and contractors with a world-class level of sales, service and after-purchase support. James E. Stephenson, President and CEO since 1995 and son-in-law to Yancey’s former President, Don Yancey, commented, “Quality products, superior customer service and unequaled experience have combined to make Yancey Bros. Co. and its divisions the industry leader for ten decades. With the addition of the Blue Bird school bus line, we remain on track with the growth of our company’s product offerings.” A new Yancey School Bus division is currently developing plans to open sales and service locations in both Georgia and Alabama along with a dedicated fleet of service trucks and parts delivery vans for Blue Bird product support.
“We are pleased Yancey has joined with Blue Bird.” said Roger Howsmon, Senior Vice President School Bus Sales & Marketing. “Their diversity of business and focus on providing the highest level of customer dedicated products and services will bring an unmatched level of product sales, service and support to Blue Bird customers in the states of Georgia and Alabama.”
