Phil Horlock was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Bird in April 2011, having previously held the position of Blue Bird’s President and Chief Financial Officer. Phil joined Blue Bird in January 2010 following more than 30 years of global automotive experience with Ford Motor Company, where he held senior executive positions in Finance and Operations worldwide.

John F. Kwapis was elected COO of Blue Bird in January 2011. Kwapis joined Blue Bird in May 2010 as SVP of Operational Excellence. Prior to joining Blue Bird, John was Chief Technology Officer, Vice President & General Manager of Invensys Controls. During his 24-year career, John has additionally held positions in Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales & Marketing and Business Development.

Phil joined Blue Bird as Chief Financial Officer in March of 2012. Prior to joining Blue Bird, Phil held roles which included financial control and strategic planning, both domestically and internationally, while stationed throughout North America, South America, Asia and Europe. Most recently, Phil was based in Shanghai leading Ford's strategic planning for growth in Asia.

Dale Wendell was appointed Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing in July 2011. Dale came to Blue Bird following a successful career with Ford Motor Company where he held Executive Leadership roles in domestic, export and fleet sales as well as key marketing leadership roles.

David Whelan was elected to Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Quality in January 2012, having previously held the position of Vice President of Manufacturing. David joined Blue Bird in May of 2003 coming from CNH where he held various engineering and operations roles for the Ag and heavy equipment company.

Steve Girardin joined the Blue Bird executive team October 14, 2009 as President and CEO of Micro Bird Inc. He has spent the last 15 years successfully leading Micro Bird Inc., previously known as Girardin Minibus Inc. Steve also participates on boards and management committees for two Blue Bird dealerships and a leading Québec school bus operator.
