Blue Bird takes pride in serving the school transportation industry. In that spirit, Blue Bird has committed itself to furthering advancements in the industry by acting as an advocate through various industry partnerships and organizations. Among these partnerships are the following professional groups:

asbc_logoThe American School Bus Council (ASBC)

The American School Bus Council represents a unified voice of the school transportation industry, including public and private transportation providers, school bus manufacturers and state officials responsible for pupil transportation. The Council is committed to providing safe, effective, efficient and healthy transportation for the more than 25 million schoolchildren who ride more than 475,000 school buses each day. The ASBC was formed in 2006 to speak with one voice on Capitol Hill, and throughout the country, on issues that impact the yellow school bus industry. The Council’s mission is to educate parents, school officials and lawmakers about the essential role the yellow school bus plays in the safety, health, security and readiness of America’s schoolchildren. The Council advocates for school transportation funding and advances industry standards on driver training, clean diesel technology and safety measures that are above and beyond state and federal law. NAPT is the school transportation industry's largest and most diverse membership organization. Professional school transportation personnel from both the public and private sector, school bus manufacturers and after-market service and product suppliers, come together through NAPT and help us develop and provide a wide variety of education and information services. This cooperation and diversity offers NAPT members a dynamic, global community of experiences and therefore an unsurpassed opportunity to become better professionals and leaders in the pupil transportation industry.                 (NASDPTS)

The School Transportation Supplier Council was formed in 1993 as a permanent standing committee of the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS) with the purpose of promoting safe, efficient school transportation by ensuring that the interests, concerns, developments, and capabilities of the supplier members of the school transportation industry are represented to NASDPTS. Members include a variety of companies that provide products or services to the school transportation industry. A vital aspect of the Supplier Council is the School Bus Manufacturers Technical Council. This council comprises engineers from companies that manufacture school bus bodies and/or chassis. The primary goal of this council is to encourage and promote safety in the design of school buses. Additionally, the council is the principal source of technical expertise for NASDPTS and provides assistance to the National Conference on School Transportation.
