MACON, Ga. (Aug. 29, 2024) – Blue Bird Corporation (Nasdaq: BLBD), the leader in electric and low-emission school buses, today announced the immediate appointment of Andy Moore as the director of Commercial Chassis. With this addition to its leadership team, the company is reinforcing its commitment to zero- and low-emissions transportation products, strengthening its strategic supplier base and focusing on its commercial line.
In his new role, Moore will lead the development and growth of Blue Bird’s commercial strip chassis and step-van business from the ground up. Moore has been with Blue Bird since 2014, holding several roles of increasing responsibility. In 2016, Moore was critical in obtaining Blue Bird’s first grant from the Department of Energy, focused on developing and commercializing a vehicle-to-grid electric school bus. He then directly supported the establishment and growth of Blue Bird’s EV business as director of EV Strategy and Operations and most recently serving as director of EV Supply Chain.
Prior to his tenure at Blue Bird, Moore worked at Mercer Engineering Research Center for nearly six years. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Mercer University and is currently an MBA candidate at Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.
