Macon, Ga. (May 27, 2026) – The Blue Bird School Bus Foundation, the charitable arm of Blue Bird Corporation (Nasdaq: BLBD), reinforced its commitment to improving the education, health and safety of Georgia’s children by awarding $81,000 to 11 local nonprofit organizations during its first community empowerment event of the year. Recipients are:
- Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia
- Brave Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center
- Fort Valley Youth Center of Excellence
- Kay Center
- Macon RBI
- Peach County Extension 4-H
- Peach County High School
- Safe Kids Central Georgia
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Macon Chapter
- United in Pink
- United Way of Central Georgia (Read United Peach County)
Donations ranged from $2,500 up to $15,000.
“Georgia has been Blue Bird’s home for nearly a century, and we are proud to serve as a good corporate citizen in the communities where we live and work,” said Blue Bird president and CEO John Wyskiel. “By investing in the education, health and safety of children in our home state, we hope to help meet critical community needs and set young people up for long-term success.”
“Blue Bird School Bus Foundation’s investment helps provide opportunities that many families otherwise could not afford, giving young people throughout our community the chance to compete, grow, learn teamwork, and pursue dreams that extend far beyond the baseball and softball field,” said Jeff Battcher, founder of Macon RBI, a nonprofit youth baseball and softball organization focused on developing young athletes through sports, mentorship and community support. “We are deeply grateful for the Foundation’s continued belief in our mission and in the future of these outstanding young people.”
Since its inception in 2015, the Blue Bird School Bus Foundation has donated more than $813,000 in charitable contributions to various community organizations, including over 90 Georgia-based nonprofits.
