[image: thumbnail]PHOENIX, AZ. (October 10, 2013) - Blue Bird Corporation recently received the 2013 Sustainability All-Star Award from Green Fleet Magazine at the Green Fleet Conference in Phoenix. Blue Bird accepted this award amongst a crowd of its peers and alternative fuel fleet operators.

This award recognizes Blue Bird’s recent achievements in the alternative-fuel bus segment. In 2013, Blue Bird experienced a four-fold increase in Propane-Powered Vision school bus sales. In addition, Blue Bird earned the largest single order of propane-powered school buses in industry history with 432 buses deployed in Omaha, Nebraska. This large adaptation of alternative fuel school buses through Student Transportation Inc. provides the Omaha community with substantial fuel savings in addition to providing a healthier environment for school children. Blue Bird currently has over five times the number of alternative fuel school buses on the road than all other makes combined.

"At Blue Bird, we are committed to providing innovative, reliable and efficient green solutions that our customers want and value," said Phil Horlock, president and CEO of Blue Bird Corporation. "I am honored to accept this award on behalf of Blue Bird and all of our employees."

"This year’s group of All-Stars is positive proof of the continuing efforts to green the fleet industry and the results that can be achieved through proactive efforts. We congratulate each and every one of the 2013 Sustainability All-Stars and thank them for their work in this field," said Mike Antich, editor of Green Fleet magazine.

The Blue Bird Propane-Powered Vision and Propane-Powered Micro Bird G5, equipped with a ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas fuel system and a Ford 6.8-liter engine meet or exceed all Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board certifications.

The buses feature 60 percent less carbon monoxide, 12 percent less carbon dioxide, 20 percent less nitrogen oxide and up to 25 percent less greenhouse gases than gasoline. Customers typically save between $3,000 and $3,500 in fuel savings per year for each propane-powered Blue Bird bus they operate. The Propane-Powered Vision is fully customizable for up to 78 passengers with the Micro Bird customizable for up to 30 passengers. Blue Bird also offers the CNG-powered All American rear engine bus, completing its full-line of alternative fuel products. The CNG-powered All American bus is fully customizable for up to 84 passengers.
